The Craftsbury Library is hosting a facilitated discussion group centered on both recent and archival short stories from The New Yorker. This free, drop-in reading group is a next generation version of the project which was held on a weekly basis throughout the summer. This fall, local writers Stark Biddle and Julia Shipley will again host an hour-long consideration of selected short stories, both classic and new, on six dates spread across the months of October, November and December. Beginning on Monday, October 2 at 7pm, the group will read and respond to a story called "Roy Spivey" by Miranda July.
October 2 “Roy Spivey,” Miranda July
October 9 “Embassy of Cambodia,” Zadie Smith
November 6 “Escape from Spiderhead,” George Saunders
November 13 “The Bear Came Over the Mountain,” by Alice Munro
December 4 “A Perfect Day for Banana Fish,” J.D. Salinger.
December 11 “The Christmas Miracle,” by Rebecca Curtis
