‘Treasure the Library’
Ski and Snowshoe Adventure
February 24 to March 5
WHAT: A snowshoe or ski adventure for individuals and families of all skill levels. Explore a narrow maze of trails in a magical cedar swamp at 400 Post Road Craftsbury Vermont (Allison Van Akkeren’s and Adrian Owens’ homestead). Find as many treasure sites (points in the woods indicated on a map) as you like. Every site will have a quote or reading. Some will have other treasures, such as sweet treats to enjoy and a “little free library”.
WHEN: Saturday Feb. 24th through Tuesday, March 5, weather permitting.
WHY: Fundraising is integral to the library’s financial stability. We hope this special event will be a fun way for people to get out and enjoy Vermont in winter, and raise needed funds for the library as well.
HOW: Make a donation to get your ticket via Eventbrite. We suggest $10-$20 per person, or $25-$50 per family. You will receive an email confirmation that will include a link to the ski trails map. If you would prefer to pay by cash or check, get in touch with Allison Van Akkeren directly.

“…he was totally thrilled, racing to each treasure when he saw it through the trees. We did it in order and it was a great exercise to help him better understand reading a map…”
